The Ocean
I love the Negril ocean.The Caribbean water off Negril Beach is normally quite warm. Still, as you step from a blistering beach into the ocean, there is that little frisson of feeling as the water reaches the sensitive spots.
I love to reach water up to my shoulders, lie back, totally relax, and have my feet float up to the surface. Without moving, with a chest full of air, I can lie in the sun, on the top of the water, without moving. The ocean is that supportive.
I love the waves. Sometimes it's a soft sussuration as they kiss the beach, or with a bit more attitude when westerly thunders windrows of waves onto the shore. I sit and watch them, and ponder the what, millions of years, that they have been reaching onto Negril, and then retreating back to the deep.
I like (but not as much as my partner) that on a calm day, you can walk from the shimmering sand into the ocean, and near shore, the water is warm!
The Beer
I like that the stores and bars on the beach often advertise that they have the coldest Red Stripe on the beach, and they pull one from their fridge, and it frosts up like a northern window in winter.So much to like, so much to love. Much more coming for this page, I assure you.
